Terms & Conditions

Futurewise Courses and Events

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before indicating your acceptance of them and submitting your application.

1. Application and Selection
You are permitted to apply to as many courses as you wish with one application form. Selection onto the course will be based on the information you provide on the form.  All other things being equal, first priority will be given to students who are members of the Futurewise Careers Guidance Scheme, and second priority to students at ISCO member schools.  Selection will take place immediately after the closing date for each course.

2. Age of Applicant
Anyone aged 16 to 18 can apply to attend the courses.

3. Notification of Offer of a Place on a Course
You will be notified of your offer of a place on each course applied for shortly after the course closing date.  If you are at an ISCO member school, you will receive notification through your Careers Adviser. You will also be notified if you have been unsuccessful in gaining a place on the course.  Should a student offered a place choose not to take it up, that place will be offered to a student held on a reserve list.

4. Payment
A request for payment will be sent with each notification of an offer of a place on a course.  Payment must be made by the date indicated on the letter.  Payment may be made by cheque sent by post and made payable to "The Inspiring Futures Foundation", or by giving credit card details over the phone.  If payment is not made by the date indicated, the offer of a place will be withdrawn and the place offered to another student.

5. Joining Instructions
Information on arrangements for each course will be sent out with the notification of offer of a place on the course and request for payment.

6. Course Fees
Course fees cover the costs of administration of the day by the Courses and Events team.  For information on whether or not lunch is provided, please refer to the joining instructions.  Course fees do not cover costs of travel to and from the course venue and accommodation if required.

7. Travel and Accommodation
All travel to and from the course and accommodation (if required) must be arranged and paid for by or on behalf of the student.

8. Cancellation and Refunds
Once payment has been received, we require 14 days' notice of cancellation of the place on the course offered in order to issue a full refund of the course fees.  If less than 14 days' notice is given, Expanding Horizons reserves the right to retain the course fees in full.

9. Cancellation of Course
The Courses and Events team reserves the right to cancel a course at short notice if there is insufficient take-up of places offered on the course.  In the unlikely event of this happening, a full refund of course fees will be issued.  We regret that we are unable to reimburse any travel or accommodation costs incurred should the course be cancelled.

10. Code of Conduct
On all our courses we expect a high standard of behaviour from students who attend.  The Inspiring Futures Foundation reserves the right to ask a student to leave a course if behaviour is considered to be adversely affecting the experience of other students without refund of course fees.  We also reserve the right to prevent students who exhibit poor behaviour from attending future courses.

11. Dress Code
The dress code for each course will be indicated both in the online course description and in the joining instructions.

12. Grievances and Complaints
We work very hard to offer courses of a consistently high standard.  Should you have any complaints or grievances, please call Richard Scott-Clark, Partners Manager on 01276 687500 or write to Richard Scott-Clark at:  The Inspiring Futures Foundation, First Floor, St George's House, Knoll Road, Camberley, Surrey GU15 3SY.
